U-Talk | Volume 3, Issue 1 | January-June | 2025

Description

This issue of U-Talk Magazine centers on the theme of rural life, weaving together voices from the margins and the mainstream to highlight stories of empowerment, cultural resilience, and knowledge production rooted in vernacular traditions. With a strong focus on the “Kahat Kabir” paradigm, the issue explores how Kabir’s teachings continue to inspire dignity, solidarity, and transformation within rural communities, particularly through the lens of the Kabirpanth movement in Bihar. Featuring a wide range of contributions—from poetry, photo essays, and book reviews to in-depth academic articles and grassroots stories—this edition showcases the vibrant activities of Umran Green School (UGS) and the Umran Academic Research Association (UARA), including language programs, women’s empowerment initiatives, and South Asian cultural events. Together, these elements reflect U-Talk’s commitment to multidisciplinary engagement, community dialogue, and the fusion of academic inquiry with lived experience.
