Founding Member Offer: ₹1,500 per year for members who join by 31 December 2026. Founding Members renew at a concession of ₹1,000 every year, as long as they renew on time, and receive a “Founding Member” certificate and badge. Membership fees for new members may be revised from 2027.

No minimum qualification. If you read, research, teach or write in the humanities and social sciences, you are welcome.

Attend all UARA workshops, seminars, webinars, lectures and FDPs free for a full year.

Speak
Propose a talk for the Associate Talk Series, an online session where members present their research or ideas.
Publish
Write for U-Talk Magazine: essays, reviews, opinion, travelogues, stories and poetry, with a members’ corner.
Teach
Faculty members can join our Resource Person Pool for FDPs, workshops and courses, with honorarium for paid programmes.
Lead
Join a working group (events, editorial support, outreach or community) and help build UARA.
Every contribution earns a certificate of appreciation. Active members receive a recommendation letter from UARA.

Apply & pay
Fill in the online form, pay ₹1,500 through UPI and upload your payment slip.
Get confirmed
Within 7 days you receive your membership number and membership card.
Join & contribute
Your profile goes live, and you can attend programmes and tell us how you would like to contribute.

Eligibility
Open to anyone interested in the humanities and social sciences: scholars, teachers, students and writers.
Fee & validity
₹1,500 for 12 months from the date of joining (Founding Member Offer, valid for those who join by 31 December 2026). Fees for new members may be revised from 2027.
Confirmation
After we verify your application and payment, you receive your membership number within 7 days.
Opportunities
Talks, publication and resource-person roles are offered through proposals and committee selection. U-Talk submissions follow the usual editorial review.
Honorarium
Members invited as resource persons for paid programmes receive UARA’s standard honorarium.
Code of conduct
We expect respect in all interactions, academic honesty (no plagiarism) and responsible use of the UARA name.
Refund
The fee is non-refundable once membership is confirmed. If your application is not approved, the full fee is refunded.
Founding Member renewal
Founding Members renew at ₹1,000 every year if they renew within 30 days of expiry.
Privacy
Your details are used only for UARA activities. Your profile appears on our website only with your consent.
UARA may update this policy from time to time; members will be informed of any changes.
Common questions
Do I need to be a faculty member or PhD holder?
No. Students, research scholars, independent researchers, writers and faculty members are all welcome.
Can members from outside India join?
Yes. UARA’s programmes are online and open to members worldwide. Write to us at uara@umran.org.in for payment options from outside India.
Does membership guarantee publication in U-Talk?
No. Members get a dedicated corner and early calls, but every submission goes through the normal editorial review to keep U-Talk’s quality.
How do I propose a talk or join the Resource Person Pool?
Once you are a member, we share a short form where you can propose a talk, list your areas of expertise or choose a working group.
What is the Founding Member Offer?
Everyone who joins by 31 December 2026 becomes a Founding Member: ₹1,500 for the first year, renewal at ₹1,000 every year after that (if renewed within 30 days of expiry), and a “Founding Member” certificate and badge on their profile.
When do I get a membership certificate?
You receive your membership card and number when you join. Each workshop or programme you attend has its own participation certificate. After completing a year of membership, you can request an annual Certificate of Membership that lists the programmes you attended.
When does my membership start and end?
It starts on the date your membership is confirmed and is valid for 12 months. We remind you before it expires.
